In the art work of Kristopher Hedley, a unique combination of traditional printmaking techniques reveal a surprising density of information and associations. Uniting aspects of surrealism, minimalism and op-art, Hedley weaves elements of nature, architecture and pattern into a mysterious "inner landscape". The images become psychograms of the hidden self, or visual metaphors for contemplative (and sometimes conflicted) spiritual activity. Hedley recieved his MFA in Printmaking from SUNY New Paltz in 2007 and has exhibited his work throughout the Hudson Valley, as well as in New York, Connecticut & New Jersey. He works as an adjunct professor of Fine Art at SUNY New Paltz and an instructor of Printmaking & Picture Framing at the Barrett Art Center, Poughkeepsie NY. |
